Join the Edinburgh International Youth Orchestra 2017

Course Details:

The Edinburgh Youth Orchestra once again becomes the Edinburgh International Youth Orchestra to play two concerts as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Joined by members of the Palestine Youth Orchestra, internationally renowned conductor, Sian Edwards, will take the helm to conduct an all-Russian programme with Daniel Rodriguez Hart as our solo pianist. Lawrence Gill, Head of Woodwind will also conduct the EYO Wind Ensemble.

Programme:

Festival Overture, Shostakovich
Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Rachmaninoff
Symphony No.5 in E minor, Tchaikovsky

Course Schedule:

The orchestra will rehearse from the 4th to 9th of August, with concerts on the afternoon of the 10th, and an evening concert on the 11th – both in Greyfriars Kirk.

Eligibility:

Players from anywhere in Scotland between the ages of 13 and 21 are eligible. Applicants should be a minimum of Grade 5 and have the support of their instrumental teacher.

Auditions:

There will be no auditions for the 2017 course!

Fees:

The fees for Summer 2017 are £195 per person, payable on acceptance on to the course.

The Edinburgh Youth Orchestra can sometimes offer help with funding for those who need it so please get in contact if you would like to apply and would like to ask about assistance with fees.
