Easter 2024

Our Easter Ensembles Course will run from 10am to 5.00pm at George Watson’s College, Edinburgh from 11- 14 April 2024.

We welcome players who are Grade 3 and above, and in Primary 6 upwards who play an orchestral instrument.

Players will be grouped into ensembles according to ability and will have the opportunity to work with professional orchestral players to develop both ensemble and individual skills. In addition, they will also work in a full orchestral setting.

The course will end with a sharing concert to showcase the work during the course.

We will be able to take approx 60 string players, 50 woodwind and brass players, and 5 percussionists as follows:

Strings

  • 34 violin
  • 10 viola
  • 10 cello
  • 6 double bass

Woodwind

  • 12 flute
  • 3 oboe
  • 10 clarinet
  • 6 saxophone
  • 6 bassoon

Brass

  • 5 trumpet
  • 4 trombone
  • 2 tuba
  • 2 French Horn

Orchestral Percussion

  • 5 players
