Dame Evelyn Glennie made Companion of Honour

Many congratulations to our Vice-President, Dame Evelyn Glennie, who has been made a Companion of Honour for services to music in the 2017 New Year Honours list.

Evelyn was our soloist on our 2003 Baltic tour, playing ‘Prazdnik’ by Eddie McGuire which was commissioned for Evelyn and the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra. We were delighted to welcome Evelyn back in 2013 to celebrate our Golden Jubilee with a performance of Veni Veni Emmanuel by James MacMillan.
