The Edinburgh Youth Orchestra will once again become The Edinburgh International Youth Orchestra in August 2017, to take part in The Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Joined by members of the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq and the Palestine Youth Orchestra, EYO players will come together for an orchestral course and concerts, from 4 – 11 August. Internationally renowned conductor Sian Edwards will take the helm to conduct a sensational all-Russian programme:
Festive Overture, Shostakovich
Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Rachmaninoff – soloist Daniel Rodríguez Hart
Symphony No 5 in E minor, Tchaikovsky
An EYO Wind Ensemble will also be formed and will perform at both concerts, conducted by Lawrence Gill, our Head of Woodwind.
Further details and applications to play in the orchestra can be made here.
