Tessa Henderson is entering into her fourth year of studies on the BMus Performance course on violin at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS). During her time at RCS, Tessa has had the privilege of receiving master classes from teachers such as Simon Fischer, Leland Chen, IIya Gringolts, Lutsia Ibragimova and Joseph Swenson.
She has performed in the Dazzling String Showcase concert held by the RCS and has taken advantage of the opportunities available by the institution such as orchestral side by side schemes with the RSNO and Scottish Ensemble. She has also participated in RCS orchestral concerts with conductors Garry Walker and Jessica Cottis. Tessa has taken part in various orchestral and chamber music courses. She has been involved in NYOS as well as participating in NYOS Futures and NYOS Camerata and this year performed with the BBC Proms Youth Ensemble on the Last night of the Proms.
Tessa has attended the summer chamber music course as part of the Aberdeen International Youth Festival led by William Conway and has twice attended the chamber music course, Music Works with tutoring from members of the London Haydn Quartet and the Elias String Quartet. Tessa is very excited to have been invited by Scottish Ensemble to be their Young Artist 2017 and is looking forward to performing with them with guest soloist Alina Ibragimova this February.
